FIRE FIGHTING ROBOT CONTEST TRINITY COLLEGE HARTFORD CONNECTICUT

Important Updates

2013 Contest DVD Available!

The 2013 official Contest DVD is ready and available for $10. See all the action from the 2013 Fire-Fighting and RoboWaiter contests. Contact Jessica Jones (jessica.jones2@trincoll.edu) to order your copy. The 2012 official video is still available, also.

Versa Challenge

Versa Products Co. Inc., a premier manufacturer of pneumatic, hydraulic, manual, and solenoid valves since 1949, is sponsoring the 2013 Versa Challenge. Fighting robots can win a $500 cash award for the best robot that uses a Versa valve to extinguish the candle. For more information, please visit: http://www.versavalves.com/newsletter/trincoll/TrinCollVersa-B.htm. You can use your valve to develop a non-air extinguisher. Your Versa Valve will work with liquids or gases, so you can build an extinguisher using Carbon Dioxide or water.

Humanoid Robots

There will be a Bioloid prize for the best Humanoid robot in the RoboWaiter Competition.

Pictures of Dogs Released!

Please click one, two, and three to view the dimensions of the dog being used in the contest.

2012 Contest DVD Available!

The 2012 official Contest DVD is ready and available for $15. See all the action from the 2012 Fire-Fighting and RoboWaiter contests. Contact Jessica Jones (jessica.jones2@trincoll.edu) to order your copy.

Audio Start Device

Important: We remind all teams--Fire-Fighting and RoboWaiter--that there is a new specification for the audio start device in 2013 (see Rules, Section 2.7). The judges will apply this rule with no exceptions.

Humanoid Robots

Calling all humanoid robots to the 2013 RoboWaiter contest! Robotis will award a Bioloid Premium robot kit to the top-performing humanoid robot in RoboWaiter 2013. Many thanks to Robotis for this generous award. Visit http://www.robotis.com/xe/bioloid_en to see the Bioloid Premium kit.

The 2013 Firefighing and RoboWaiter rules are posted for review and feedback. Please send your feedback to Ed Nisley (ed.nisley@ieee.org) with a copy to Dave Ahlgren (david.ahlgren@trincoll.edu).
