News!
July 1, 2009
Mark your calendars!
The 2010 Trinity College Fire-Fighting Home Robot Contest will
be held on April 10 and 11, 2010 on the Trinity College campus
in Hartford, Connecticut USA.
The 2009 contest drew
more than 100 teams from around the world with first-time
registrations from Portugal and Indonesia. In 2009 we featured
two new events: the new “House on Fire” Expert Division, and
the RoboWaiter contest. RoboWaiter is sponsored by the
Connecticut Council on Developmental Disabilities. We’re looking
forward to high levels of participation in House on Fire and
RoboWaiter in 2010.
The contest survey
showed that RoboWaiter participants felt a high level of
engineering challenge, were curious about assistive robotics,
and wished to increase awareness among potential users of
assistive technology. Supporters and instructors felt it was
important to introduce students to the assistive technology
subject. We hope that many school and university teams will
accept the RoboWaiter and fire-fighting challenges in 2010.
Stay tuned to this website for further information.

Expert, Junior, Walking, High School, and Senior. The RoboWaiter contest will
include standard and advanced divisions. We will continue to offer the poster
competition, the BURP (Best Unified Robot Performance) prize, the robotics
Oympiad, and the Symposium.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR ROBOTS!

Pre-Registration Information for All Teams! International Teams Please
Read!
Registration is quickly approaching,
and although it will not be open until February 1st, there are still ways to
start preparing now. All USA and Canadian teams must have a valid credit card
number, address, and team name at time of registration. Please have everything
organized before the registration process begins. More detail on specific
information will be posted later.
International teams are strongly
recommended to contact event coordinator Jessica Studinski at
Jessica.Studinski@trincoll.edu
to begin the process of applying for a visa as well as to begin travel
arrangements as soon as possible. It is important that this is started early so
that the time leading up to the competition can be spent working on your robots
and not your travel plans. Jessica Studinski can help international teams with
any problems or questions relating to travel or housing.

November 5, 2008 Thanks to several people for sending feedback about the
House on Fire rules. You're responsible for recent improvements and
clarifications. Please see the HOF rules on the website. We posted photos of the

ready. We also posted a photo of the RoboWaiter plate this week.
Thank You!
April 24 - Thank you for participating in the Trinity College Fire Fighting Home Robot Contest!
We had 106 robots participate in this year's event. The website has been updated with all of the contest winners.
Please review the standings. If you are a winner of any type of prize, you should have completed the orange winner's sheet before
leaving campus. The sheet was provided at the contest and some teams have returned them. For those who have NOT, please send
an email to Jessica.Studinski@trincoll.edu for further instruction.
All other awards are currently being processed.
All participants are eligible to receive a fantastic software package by our sponsor, SolidWorks Inc. To receive the
complimentary software, please visit www.solidworks.com/sponsoreddesigncontest Be sure to use the same robot name and
affiliation as you used in the Robot Contest, as SolidWorks will be verifing all information to ensure a match.
